The Reserve at Jewel Lake is a place that is known for its serene beauty as well as its social programs and interaction with the greater Lake City community. As part of that community interaction and “neighbor-helping-neighbor” passion the Jewel Lake community will be focusing its outreach and social programming efforts in partnership with our veterans and their families. The Jewel Lake family of homeowners realizes the great sacrifices our veterans and their families have made over their lives to protect the freedoms and enhance the lives of all Americans. It is with that sacrifice in mind that the Jewel Lake family wants to reach out and serve our veterans and their families in their time of need with a service of neighborly care and compassion so richly deserved by them.

The plans for Jewel Lake’s community involvement with our veterans starts within the village itself with a Veterans Preference Buying Program wherein Jewel Lake’s builders will give veterans special home packages that include custom home features to assist our veterans in their unique living needs. There will be an on-site bus for transportation to the local Veterans Administration Hospital as well as trips to local doctors and pharmacies. There is also a Wellness Center already established at the front entrance to the village that will be available for customized therapy and rehabilitation programs. Other programs will be custom designed for the veterans within the village as the Homeowner’s Association develops its formal Activities Programs and sees what the needs of the families are that relocate their lives to Jewel Lake. The community will be encouraged to adopt a veteran family and interact with that family so that this family is plugged in right away to the community, its neighbors, and all the activities of Jewel Lake.

Jewel Lake is also in the process of meeting with the leadership of local veterans service organizations such as VFW and AMVETS to encourage their membership to help us with our mission of caring for our veterans. Once again, Jewel Lake will be establishing an “Adopt a Vet” type program for these service organizations that will further expand our mission to care for our veterans and their families. Finally, the Jewel Lake family will also be encouraging local community groups such as Rotary, Chambers of Commerce, and its religious community to help with the mission to care for our veterans and their families. As you can see its not a duty we take lightly so come be a part of our family at Jewel Lake. We would love to serve you and your family.

Finally, as the above groups work to reach out to our veterans, both the Jewel Lake community and its veterans want to utilize their collective experiences to serve our community. The Jewel Lake community's volunteer team will seek to engage their passions and experiences in our area's schools, hospitals, service centers, churches, shelters, and clubs. Our community of volunteers at Jewel Lake desires to have a "Service Attitude Towards Others" and be known for giving back to others. Come serve with us.
